As the Centroid control is a very nice control to work with, my opinion of course. I hope someone does have the courage to try it and make it work.

Someone who thinks they will get this for free has rocks in their head.

This would require a significant amount of programming that the standard control would likely not have.

I doubt that they have ever done a upgrade on a machine with both. While the Centroid has been installed on machines with vertical spindles and machines with horizontal spindles. I am so glad that we paid the extra money for a extended warrentee and paid for the onsite set up by a factory trained vendor.ДЇor anyone contimplateing a CNC upgrade on a machine with electronics as complicated as a Maho or Deckel would be foolish to try it on their own. Our company bought a mill with a Centroid installed and even though it was a new machine there were still small problems with the PLC code. However it seams that many people are too willing to belive that all CNC retrofits are easy. The folks at Centroid have done lots of Bridgeports and similar machines and there fore the kits are pretty complete and likely easy to do. The Centroid system is just that, a system or kit. This subject has come up more than once on several of the forums. If it is one of ease of operation i might suggest investing in a good CAM system to feed the 432. Why do you want to replace the control? Thought parts for a 432 were relatively avaliable. At $15-20K it seems you could buy alot of repair parts and the 432 when the day is finished is a real OEM fitup with a PLC that actually works for that machine. The concept is nice, but some members have had less than great results. I would ask your question on the CNC forum and see what response you get. (a simpler work up than a Maho) Think the real cost when it was done was close to $18K.Think Michel's machine works fine but he has been working at it for over two years.

(they neglect to mention this when talking price) In my area Michael Moore has fitted a Centroid to his Tree knee mill. The control comes with all the features ,but you have to pay for each above the quoted base price. The support once they have your money is by most accounts almost non existant. There are a number of folks over on the CNC forum tht have done or tried to do Centroid retro fits. They don't know anything about integrating the linear scales into the control of the machine. They only want to sell you a complete package with their servos and control. The folks at Centroid were very unhelpful. I made some attempt some time ago to get information as to retro fitting an FP4NC Deckel.
